So um.. what's with the awkwardly placed lesbian stuff thrown into a very shounen anime? I mean I have nothing against lesbians at all (I really liked Utena..), but this relationship just seems out of place.. or is it just me?

it is sort of awkward... but I like the fact that whether or not Ichigo likes anyone, which would probably either end up being Orihime or Rukia, he doesn't let it get in the way of anything. Mm, shounen anime. I dunno though, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.. maybe they really are very good friends. I mean, Orihime is all by herself and sort of wussy, and her butch friend just happens to take care of her. Or something.

Gah, I dunno. At least it doesn't detract from anything..

I'm not positive that their lusting after each other, they've been friends for a long time and stuff...but usually shonen stuff do emphasizing male bonding...hm.....so it's definitely possible.
