Firstly and most importantly, huge apologies for how long this update took. Nightmare writer's block, coupled with work problems, coupled with the chest cold/stomach bug combo from hell .... but I'm back now. That quote ... I love it, and it's coming back, soon. The rest of this chapter, and the epilogue, are going to depend pretty heavily on that idea.

Mmmm. I don't mean to be a tease, and believe it or not, but that's about to become very important, here.

Typically, my filthy mind would have gone with "servicing" rather than "pacifying". But that's only if the Master records the message.

Seriously, though, I'm hoping it's not too jarring, or to OOC for the Master to accept this, at that particular point. He knows the Doctor extremely well, and he might be exasperated, but not truly furious.

All I can say other than that is "keep reading", because this is all about to come together. The end is nigh (for this fic, I mean!)

I'm glad you like! Yes, this chapter probably has the most interesting dialogue, and revelations. Hard to write, but fun to read, even for me!

Oh! Hi! Yes, I remember you posted at teaspoon. I don't want to post there until the chapter's finished, because I think I've made enough of a mess of their archives with my splintered chapters!

It was Chapter 3 that did it. What a nightmare!

Yes, feeling much better. And there's been so many good fics written (and series completed) lately, it inspired me to get my backside in gear over this one.

The rest of the chapter, and the epilogue (which is, hands down, my favourite part) depend heavily on this bit.

More later today, I promise! Chapter 4 will probably be in 3 parts, then the epilogue. And then I have at least six awesome fic ideas to work on. Roll on the weekend!

I have better things to do than reading but I still read, because this is great!
I love they way you describe them, and it's noce to see a well written Doctor/Master story that is not depressingly dark for a chance.

Psst... Tiny littly typo: No, his voice if far more seductive than his actions.

Gah. It doesn't matter how many times it's checked, the typos still slip in.

I love reading the dark fic that's out there, but I can't write like that. I know some people would say it's fluffy and unrealistic, but I wanted to write about a development in the saga, not more of the same. Which is what it would've ended up being, if I'd tried to write dark!

Plus, I only do happy endings. For the sake of my own sanity.

Parts 2 and 3 are now up, Part 4 later today, and the epilogue tomorrow.
