That was incredibly intense, the moments drawn out and suspended in time almost, everything accelerating so slowly you can understand why nobody ever thought to hit the brakes. Nicely done.
Yay, it's part one and there'll be more thank god because this was hot and thinky and really in character. I loved it! I'm definitely on board for more!
This was beautiful, especially the shot-gunning and pre-series boys! I love that ruined moment in the end that somehow made things real, created an unfinished memory for them to pick back up later.
And pick it up they do, in Chapter 2. Which I should link to here. And since someone asked so nicely, chapter 3, which should be done w/in the 1/2 hour!
Wow, I love your writing. Evocative, true, and really hot. Like, sizzling. I need to point one thing out, though, just because I'm old enough to remember American cars from the mid-'60s: "His eyes are half-closed and he slumps in the seat, long legs spread wide, one knee against the door, one just touching the gear shift." The gear shift in the Impala is on the steering column, not on the floor. It'd be kind of awkward even for Sam to have his leg on it. But now please forget I said anything, because the important thing is that this story totally rocked.
I'm old, too. :) My first car was a 64 dodge dart. And it did have the shift on the steering column. Let's pretend it didn't happen. usually i look, i actually have some screen shots of the impala a) for reference - headrests? reclining seat? and b) i have the hots for that car.
An now I'm jsut picturing Sam with his leg up. Odd. I think I'm going to go back and change it.
I'm so glad you liked it an took the time to comments. Feedback is crack to me!

That's a great description. That's how it feels sometimes when you're stoned. Or so I've heard. :)
Now back to the present to see how it plays out.
