I am attempting to ignore this fact so that I can just enjoy the comic because it is very interesting...
But if Superman was raised on a collective farm under Stalin he probably would not have even survived infancy (esp. considering his powers didn't start until age 12), and he definitely wouldn't have become committed to communist ideals. Stalin killed tens of thousands of peasants to collective farming, and they all pretty much hated him and Soviet Russia, especially in the Ukraine...where the entire area was blockaded and the population left to starve while all the agricultural product was shipped to the Red Army.
And his little friends wouldn't have been able to leave the Ukraine to go visit Stalin's funeral because, as I said, the area was blockaded.
