+ I watched "The Virgin Suicides" with my mother yesterday, and then I watched "ParaNorman" with Tom last night at bedtime. Oh, man, ParaNorman was actually super cute. In a creepy way, granted, but you know. That's all well and good. Neil was adorable - I liked him a lot. I kind of liked everyone, actually

That's precisely how I felt about it! Watching them from a distance, and getting to see only what the group of boys saw... I can't think of another word that's quite as appropriate, so yes, unsettling. And it makes it a little more painful, too, for me, since they knew people were watching. The scene where they were playing the records over the phone just punched me in the gut, because they couldn't even communicate. I mean, I know they didn't want their parents to hear them talking and get suspicious, but just hearing the songs was so eerie. And it was almost romantic, too, at least on the boys' end, which made it a little creepier, since we never knew if the girls really like them or it they needed the audience. The whole thing gave me the shivers.

I may end up reading the novel for myself soon, if I can get my hands on it.
