What if the woman was raped, what if it is more dangerous for her to have a baby due to some medical problem.
Sex education in our school system is a joke, they teach you abstinance, and nothing else. They should teach you about birth control, and condoms and how to use these items. How are kids supposed to know how to prevent a pregnancy when they aren't taught about it.
And not only "funky, ghetto, welfare getting women" get abortions. Ever heard of Sherry Lewis and Lambchop....is she getto funky because she had an abortion.

You seem to be very opinionated and give reasons for the opinions you express, I respect that. Too many people just say "I feel this way, or I feel that way" and never back up why they feel that way. I am pro-choice but feel that the choice to have an abortion should be made only after getting as much information on what options you have as possible. I agree that going out and being promiscuious (sp) and deciding "well if I get knocked up I'll just have an abortion" is terrible but it is still that persons right to feel that way, wether I like it or not ( ... )

a lot of people say that even if some people don't like abortion, it's up to the individual to choose the fate of their baby. um, some quick questions, first, if that is the case, why aren't people allowed to murder other people? i mean, i may not choose to kill anyone, but i can't judge others that do, right? yet it's still illegal...and secondly, if a mother can kill her child while it is in her, why can't she kill it when it's 2 months old? i don't see much of a difference there. people will try to argue that it isn't a life until it is born, but i would have to disagree, and i think that science and logic would too. it's amazing how quickly a fetus has a heart beat and are able to smile and move and breathe. if you would argue that it isn't a life because it can't think or talk, well, after a baby is born, how long does it take for the baby to talk or show signs of rational thought? i dunno, i guess im just speakin' my mind. oh, and yeah, im a male, i wasn't aware that that prohibited me from showing concern over the murder of ( ... )

have i ever been in the situation? um, i suppose being a guy i haven't, however, my mother became pregnant with me when she was a senior in high school. her doctor told her that her best option was to have me aborted. she chose to get herself off of drugs and live on welfare for five years in order to keep me. it would have been incredibly easy for her to have just killed me and move on with her life. as for calling pro-choicers killers, i don't recall having done that. i do remember writing that abortion itself is murder, which would logically lead me to say that people that choose to have an abortion are committing murder, and i suppose the doctors too, but people that are pro-choice in their opinions, they would not be killers, i guess maybe murder-supporters, even if they may have good intentions. hm, oh, and yeah i have 4 sisters, 3 of which are in their early 20's. as for me, i am 17. as a question for you, since i think i answered all of yours, wouldn't me saying that i think pro-choicers are killers be exactly what you called ( ... )

Even moving one step sideways from this arguement raises one of the biggest issues that I think so little people really consider. The emotional ramifications of having an abortion. I've heard a lot of women and their stories about their own abortions, the lack of support, the feeling of being horrible in the eyes of society. Why is there so little there for women today? It's not as clean cut as anyone seems to like to think. Even if one agree's with their choice, there may still be guilt. (Do not argue this is a pro-life issue, it is a personal one ( ... )

****And I think it's a weak arguement that "if they spread their legs - they have to deal with it!" I'm sorry. If I get addicted to coke, I don't deserve any respect or help?****

sure.... but you also knew the consequences BEFORE you started doing coke... therefore, you knew what the outcome would be. sure you can have help... but getting help does NOT include killing a life.

*** If I get raped, I asked for it?****

nope.. and i SPECIFICALLY SAID that women who are raped did NOT MAKE THE CHOICE to lay down and spread their legs... therefore, they should be offered the option of abortion.

*** If I date an abusive partner, or happen to marry an abusive husband - no help for me, god that's my fault, and I'm just going to have to live with it. Tough cookie.****

no, that's not your fault... but dont expect people to feel sorry for you or show pity if you are not smart enough to realize that you need to get out of the relationship.

apples and oranges... we're talking about a human life here... not being smacked around, or doing smack

Let me ask you this? Why does every female that has an abortion have to be a crack head or a whore?
