Dear, Flight Attendance
"Dear passenger, welcome to Japanese Airlines. Our destination is Denpasar, Bali. I am Ninomiya Kazunari, your head cabin crew. As the regulation, we must explain to you about safety equipment and what should you do in an emergency case." And then Ninomiya began to explain about emergency exits, life jacket, oxygen mask, toilet, and a book that consist all of it.
"If there is something you couldn't understand and need something, don’t hesitate to tell us, we will help you. And, in few minutes we will take off from Narita Airport. Please fasten your seat belt, straighten your chair, pull off the windows lid, fold your table, and turn off any electronic device that have radio transmitter. Thank you." Ninomiya added.
Ohno Satoshi just looked at the man with the cute smile in front of his seat. The man who announced that he is the head of cabin crew, to take a seat and fasten his seat belt. Soon the plane started to take off.
Ohno Satoshi decided he will go to Bali, what people said it was heaven on earth. He took a break from his routine activity as a business man and took a whole week off for holiday.
It was when the plane flew , Ninomiya, the flight attendance stood up, "Minna-san, we will start to distribute drinks for you and if you have something you want, you can tell us."
Ohno saw the flight attendance walked past him to the back of the aircraft. Well, actually he kind of liked the face of that flight attendance. Soon enough Ninomiya was back again pushing a trolley.
"Good Morning, Ohno-sama. What do you want to drink? We have coffee, tea, juice, and water. But I'm sorry Indonesia forbid to sell alcohol so we don't have it."
"No, it's fine, a cup of coffee, please."
Ninomiya poured black coffee in the white mug. He unfold Ohno's table and put it above it. "I am Ninomiya at your service, Ohno-sama. I hope you enjoy the flight."
Ohno flashed a small smile. Ninomiya bowed at him before he turned to a other passenger. Ohno looked at the coffee in front of him, he took a gulp of it and drank it, and smiled.
He already flew two hours when Ohno ran out his coffee. He found Ninomiya was not in his seat probably still on duty or in the back with the other crew. He wanted to push the button to call him. However what if the one who will show up is not him but someone different? In the end Ohno still pushed the button. Soon he heard steps from behind. "Ohno-sama, is there anything that I could help with?"
Ohno looked up and found Ninomiya smiling at him. "Oh yeah, I would like another drink. A water would be fine cause I can't drink caffeine anymore."
"Wakarimashita. Please wait a little bit."
Ninomiya took the cup and walked away again, when he returned (replaced but now) he had (removed back with) a bottle of mineral water and a box of refreshment. "Here is your water. And also there is some refresments from us too, Ohno-sama."
"Thank you."
"Don’t mind, Ohno-sama. It is my duty." Ninomiya said as he sat down in his chair again.
"Can we talk? Ninomiya?" asked Ohno bravely to the flight attendance.
Nino look surprised. "Eh? Talk?"
"Yeah, talk, chat, or what you prefer to call it. I don’t want to sleep in the morning, yet I am so bored right now. I don’t want to open my notebook cause it just make me work, so I need someone to talk with."
"But Ohno-sama, I am your flight attendance."
"Then what? Can't I talk to my flight attendance. You still do your job and if there is someone who need you, you can go there."
"Well, if you don’t mind it."
"So, you are a flight attendance? Male flight attendance?"
"Yes. Just like you see."
"May I know how old are you? I am 35 by the way,"
"I'm going to turn 32 this year, Ohno-sama."
"Wait, Wait. Why do you call me with 'sama' honorifics?"
"Why? Because you are our passenger. It's rude if I don't call you with 'sama'."
"Well, it's fine for me."
"And Ohno-sama, do you come to Bali for holiday? Or for business?" Ninomiya asked before he covered his mouth with his hands. "Sumimasen Ohno-sama. I shouldn’t have ask that. Sorry."
"No no. It's fine. I go there for holiday. Run away from Tokyo. My friend recommended Bali, so I go there.”
"Well, it's a good choice, Ohno-sama. Bali is indeed a great place to relieve your stress."
"You have come there?"
"Well, my route is around southeast Asia. And I have gone to Bali countless time. There were a time where I needed to rest on Bali before my next flight."
Suddenly Ohno gaze fell on Ninomiya's finger. He looked at the finger and felt relieve when he didn’t found a ring on Ninomiya's hand. "I hope it will be a really great place or else I will be disappointed."
"I can guarantee that Ohno-sama. Bali will never disappoint you."
They chatted along after that. Sometimes it was about Ohno's job or other times it was just Ohno's curiosity about the other. Well, in the middle Ninomiya needed to go because he still needed to do his job. Of course his main task wasn't about chatting with his passenger, so he left Ohno behind.
Ohno was too immerse with Bali tourism guide book in his hand until he didn’t know that Ninomiya was already standing in front of him again.
"Attention to all our passenger. We already arrived in Indonesia. In few minutes we will landing in Denpasar, Bali. Please move back to your seat, wear your seat belt, straighten your chair, pull of the windows lid and fold your table. Please don’t turn on your phone until you arrive on the terminal. And please don’t move from your place until the plane stop. Thank you for your attention."
Ohno gripped his arm rest and straighten his way of sitting when he felt that the plane touched the asphalt. The plane started to slow down before finally stopping.
"We arrived in Ngurah Rai International Airport, Denpasar, Bali. Right now it's 2 pm Bali's time. We hope you enjoyed your flight. This is our goodbye, but we hope we will meet you again in another flight."
When everyone rushed out from the aircraft, Ohno still sat casually in his seat. Until he was the only one left. He took his luggage and started to walk to the exit door.
"Thank you for using our airplane for your journey, Ohno-sama." Ninomiya bowed.
"I liked the service of this airline. As expected from JAL."
"I am glad to hear that."
Ohno took something from his wallet and handed it to Ninomiya, "This is my business card."
"Eh?"
"I am planning to have a whole week here. I hope I can get your service on my way back to Tokyo. And when you have your days off in Tokyo don’t hesitate to call me."
"Eh? Ohno-sama?"
Ohno looked at his card that he had still in his hand and smiled. He shoved it into Ninomiya's pocket. "I'll wait for your call."
