I wrote this while on a Christian retreat while reflecting on the choices and decisions I have made. It is kind of dreary, but it ends in an optomistic tone. Also, like many of my writings, I sort of. . . find my rhyming and rhythm as I go along, it is always a mix between free write and structure. Here it is, untitled as usual

this is really good. and no, i'm not just saying that because you're my brother. it's got a very... 'spoken word' feel to it, and i love me some spoken word.

a lot of stuff I write lately leans more towards that "spoken word" feel, writing like that feels a lot more purposeful, not like poetry riddled with too many metaphors, that stuff sounds so pretensious. And thank you, and not just because you're my brother, but because you are tall and can grow a mean beard. I think it is the lames that you are only coming back for 5 days.

dude, troll face, i just shaved off the meanest beard i've had yet. maybe i'll start growing it back in again so you can see it over break. seriously. i looked all manly and full of testosterone. rawr!

also, 'explosions in the sky' was on NPR between news segments today, and i totally thought of you. and, well, the awesomeness that is explosions in the sky.

furthermore, i've fonud this new band, that i love love love, and you may like them as well. maybe i'll burn you a copy for x-maaas if you'd like.

ADDITIONALLY, i have a surprise for you! i can't tell you/show you until i'm back, but you'll really like it. well, it's not 'for' you, but it's something i'll share with you. you'll see.
