Now That I Am in Madrid and Can Think 10/22
Rating: R (swearing and grownup stuff)
Summary: Arteta really did drink and drive that night and his hair really is made of Lego pieces. The rest is pretty much crack.

all Xabi ever has to say on the subject is I love the rain. )

That's an actual quote from an interview with some Spanish radio where Rafa and co. bitch about dreary, rainy Liverpool and Xabi's all quiet and just says he loves the rain.

Sometimes... it writes itself with these two dorks.

Gracias! Santa has been decent, I think what I wanted most was to not slip into a fatal case of writer's block and I got that. :)

Arteta kind of freaks me out (even though I'm convinced he's fantastically smart and classy and just everything you'd imagine from Xabi's boyhood BFF), it's his hair and his... features, I can't even explain it, so I transferred that onto Stevie a bit, but I'm also trying to convince myself he's not a cyborg so... :)

I had chills when I first read it. You're fantastic at exploring the darker corners of the mind without it coming out comically and without pathos (maybe because you balance it with humor in other parts of the story), you take your readers on a ride of self-exploration and self-realization that way, don't let them remain mere onlookers, you disturb them (in the best possible way) - what would a story be worth if it didn't make us contemplain the human nature? So this is amazing and obtained with very sophisticated ( ... )

I'm shamelessly spoilt about the next chapter

You sure about that... ;) I swear I didn't do it on purpose, I've been obsessing about the order of these two chapters since I first mapped out the story... Hopefully this will convince you to stop asking for spoilers. :p
