Not much to report....I am still struggling with the braces. He sometimes tolerates them..but at other times he pulls his foot right out, and I have no idea how. He also tugs on his foot so much that he has almost given himself a blister on the top of his foot. It is not fun. I so wish they could develop a better way to do this bracing crap. I wish he wasn't having such a horrible time!! One thing I hate about the medical field is that they really don't care for the patient's comfort... they just want to fix your problem and get their cash... damn doctors...
thanks for being so supportive in my last entry... you are sooo right...
And on those less than snowy days, bundle him up really well and take him out anyway... Eric loves to be outside regardless of the weather, and I think it's because I let him go out... unless he was sick or it was raining... I have to draw the line somewhere... hehehehe....

Sorry it has been so long since I have commented...I'm pretty bad about coming here now. MDD did this wierd update...but now I don't like it so I've moved permanently to Xanga.com. I'm sorry Brendan isn't liking his brace so much, he'll adjust eventually. That's weird that his demeanor is changing because of it...he's probably just tired of the hassle of it, but he doesn't really know anything other than his brace, so that's weird he is changing!! Good luck....Wy~

i really feel you with the dbb braces. my experience with them was anything but pleasant. my son would not sleep in them. he would scream and scream and when he was tired that made everything that much worse, and then i would take the bar off, and poof, he would be out cold. it takes a while. hell, he was in them for nearly 5 months and he slept in them at night MAYBE 10 times. BUT his feet are doing great, he'll be in the afo braces as of next week, so he'll be able to start walking.

isn't it amazing how a disablity such as this isn't able to slow them down, or kill their character? imagine one of us having to be attached to a bar for 23 hours out of our day, it would KILL us. but for them, it's all they know.

good luck sweetie.
