Oh my goodness. I am in BIG trouble. I am officially moved back in with my parents which is much sooner than I had expected but I'm glad. Correction. Was glad. Here's the thing. I saw that Dying to Dance was coming really early one morning and I really wanted to see it, but I knew that if anyone heard me downstairs they would join me and I didn't ( Read more... )

Oh one more thing I forgot!

I don't know how much this may help, but it has helped me a TON!

A couple of my coworkers were saying I have an eating disorder, so I went home and told my parents and acted a little upset/ a little amused, and said I hate how people say that when I've worked so hard to lose it the healthy way

I used to be obese, so this may work better for me, but if you acknowledge your weight loss, but insist you do it the healthy way, you may rally more ppl to your side - it worked for both my parents... so well that I probably could tell them I have an eating disorder and they wouldn't believe me! lol

that video clip was amazing. she has the kind of grace and confidence that you can't tear your eyes away from... i've always wanted to dance like that, but i was born with no natural ability whatsoever. you have to be born with it to have that kind of skill and agility...

i've managed to work my way up to a fairly flexible level, but i'll never have enough turnout or arch to have that type of ease on pointe shoes... i look like a fish out of water on pointe.

I'm sorry about the whole thing with your parents. hide everything and deny it all to the last. don't blame it all on stress because that itself is a sign of an eating disorder. if your parents ask you questions, ask them right up front if the video made them think you have a disorder, and ask them why. make sure you're able to counter their points, and tell them that you're hurt they don't trust you. make sure they know that you're honestly fine and wish they'd stop mistaing your hard work for some sort of sickness...

that's the best i can give you... good luck

Thank you sooo much for the advice. Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, but I am trying to be sooo careful. I was not born with any natural talent either but am working my butt of to learn it. Did you used to dance? ~dee

I've danced for years... since I was little. I'm going to a national competition this Summer, and then that's it for me, I'm going away to school. I've been with the same teacher for 10 years, and I have to say goodbye. I love my classes and teacher so much, and it's tearing me apart that it's ending. I seriously considered failing my senior year so that I didn't have to go away to college and leave what i love behind.

I don't understand why you have to leave dance. Why not just take a class or 2 while you are in college. It sounds like you love it very much! ~Dee
