I need advice?

Should I tell my mom and my family about my gender issues? Cause I'm really sick of hidding it from everyone except two people. Also, I'm at the point where I don't care if my mom has a negative reaction to it, if she does it'll give me a 'legit reason' to cut her out of my life for good. But what I'm really worried about is telling my aunt, ( Read more... )

Well, I think you should tell them, it'd help you feel...freer? And you already said that in your mom's case, even the worst scenario would have a 'good' side. Your aunt, from what you said about her, loves you and cares a lot about you. Even if what you told her was weird or shocking to her, I don't think she'd snap at you or tell you anything that could hurt you. No matter what your uncle's thoughts about those matters are, no matter if he affected your aunt's ideas...you're her niece, not a random person. As much, she'll ask questions and do her best to try to understand and to support you. Just be ready to answer all kind of question, people can ask some ridiculous ones only out of ignorance, even with no bad intention.

If you decide to go for it...good luck! *hugs*

I think you should just tell her, if it's bothering you this much where it's making you feel literally sick, then tell her. She's been there more than your own mother, I'm pretty sure she'll understand, she was young once too.

Just be comfortable with yourself bb, whoever you are on the inside should be shown on the outside too.

I think you should tell them. You obviously won't be able to keep it to yourself all along.

When it comes to your Aunt and her husband, you'd be surprised what prejudices people can overcome for the ones they love. Their acceptance may not be instantaneous but I'm sure they'll at least try for you.

You obviously still have people who know in your real life and support you, maybe you should talk this over with them as well? I'm sure they could better judge the reactions of those involved.

I hope things work out for you. :)
