I don't read e-books (except when they're e-galleys), so I'm still firmly in the physical book camp...however, I'm not sure what I think about going the self-pubbing route for me, personally. Not something I'd do right now, but you never know what the future brings, right? :)

I always loved physical books, the smell , the touch. But sine my husband gave me a kindle I love ebooks. I can always have loads of books with me, I can read the next book of a series in an instant without going to the store ( YA or any fiction is hard to find in English here) and now I can have my shelves for my favorite books, that I still but Physical.
But it is still hard to know which way to take both sides have pros and cons. Also self-pubbing is a lot of work... As you say we never know what the future brings :)

It's a double-edged sword. There are good and bad books in ALL publishing--big press and small. The problem is, with the rise in self-published novels, there are just so many MORE bad books than there used to be. But there are good self/small published books. I've read many of them. There just happens to be a lot of bad ones too. :(

Yeah! that's the problem self- published books have bad fame because of many bad books. Maybe as the author of the article said, when we have a better sistem for rating books profesionaly that problem will be solved for readers.
