Say, Hypothetically, they were to do another X-men Wolverine prequel, based on his time in Japan. What other media/ films, (assuming you know the comic I'm referring to), would best relate or be like, how you would ideally imagine a Wolverine prequel to be.

i think it would be best in the turn of the century, when japan ceased to be a feudal empire and modernised itself, that is if it has nothing to do with before the first film,and not after it ended

Writing and direction wise, I think it would be a bit like the episodes of Cowboy Bebop that have the Spike vs. Vicious arc.

PS. This is in reference to the four issue Frank Miller wolverine series that takes place in Japan right? If not, that is exactly what it should be.

Yes, that. Apparently in the UK the Wolverine film's epilogue was in a Japanese bar, not that atrocity with Deadpool's head.

I think they need to leave the Wolverine property alone for a little while and then relaunch it if they feel the need to do so (since Marvel will just never let Wolverine die). His time in Japan is such a great story, but after the second X-men movie (which was great) everything else was just kinda downhill and Muppet Babies. Wolverine, while a great character, just seems like a crutch Marvel . When they feel like they can't dig themselves out from blasting out book after awful book or ruining a genuinely good idea they came up with (Exiles, I'm looking at you), they throw Wolverine at it like a cure-all.

I think it will be intresting to see wolverine in those times, and i think it will be like just part of his story it self, I mean i dont think it will afect the actual story of the character...and if Marvel had the comic, Well i think tha will be just a part of his past dont it?...

It would be intresting seeing a movie based on the comic book "Marvel Zombies"....i mean i will be laughing a lot with it....can you imagine a movie like that, as the comic is already funny!!....
