No one will ever love me like you do

“So where are we going?”
“To Hell.”
“Okay, but before that?”

FLO was uploaded by a charitable soul for us foreigners last Friday and by now I've watched it two times the full movie and seen certain scenes like a dozen times, so it's safe to say that I love it.
I've been waiting for this movie for months and expected the best of it, and I must say that it didn't disappoint me.

For Lovers Only is a romance film directed by Michael Polish, written by Mark Polish and starring Stana Katic and Mark Polish. Katic plays Sofia, a journalist and former model, while Polish plays Yves, a former fashion photographer. Sofia chances upon Yves, a former lover, while on assignment. The story focuses on the couple's flight from Paris via a variety of forms of transportation: train, car and motorcycle, and their travels extend from Normandy to St. Tropez.

Filmed in black&white, with beautiful scenarios, first of all it's a love story between two people that was supposed to be together but for reasons not mentioned, they separated and ended up with the wrong people. They're married now, but they're not happy in their relationships. He even has a daughter.
And this is a topic that many people think is what weighs down the movie, the infidelity. Call me whatever you want to call me but that doesn't bother me at all, because these two are so miserable in their marriages. She's apathetic, he's even depressed. The man photographs dead pigeons and 'f*cking walls'. They were both so surprised when they met again, and they took the chance of being happy at least for a couple of days. Clearly they both felt guilty about what they were doing, but they felt extremely alive doing it. Also I think that those days really fill them with some kind of energy and happiness to continue with their lives.

If there's something that bothered me a little is when she goes to a church, and then he joins her. Like why do you ask for forgiveness or try to ease your soul if you're later going back to the same. That's not how it works, people.

As for the love story per se, the movie is one of the best, pretty sexy, pretty romantic. Stana is fantastic. I don't think there's a bad shot of her. The woman is beautiful, so much of an statement, but black and white and hair, and clothes and Paris and sex scenes, and chocolate, and everything in this movie really suit her. I'm in love with her, in case you haven't noticed ;P

Favorite scene? Hard to pick. ok, two: The first kiss and the one with her alone in bed. This one really hit me.

Someone compared this movie to Before Sunset, another of my favorites, and I agree, it's pretty similar except for the sex scenes, 'cuz there are none in Before Sunset =P

Yes, I'll watch it again tonight.

movies, stana katic
