Good luck with the move! Yes, just telling everyone else where to put stuff will be tiring enough, without your lifting anything personally. ;)

It's hard to get everything ironed out with arrangements for after the baby's born, I hope you are able to come up with a solution that you feel all right about. I did choose to stay home (knowing that the majority of working parents do not really have a choice) but I would not judge anybody for returning to work. You have to do what works. Maybe your office has some ability to do flex time or take work home a few days a week? Just an idea.

The nature of my job really doesn't allow for working from home, unfortunately. The faculty just need a lot more hands-on help than that. And I don't see any possibility of doing part time in my department, either. It seems like Macneil and I are settling on my being at home for the first year after the little A is born at least. When you decided to stay home, did you tell your boss ahead of time? Were you covered by disability even though you had chosen to not return to work? I'm not really sure how things work in that case. I'm afraid I would not be eligible for any of the benefits I would have if I planned to return. I guess I should try to look this stuff up!
