I've uploaded three sonogram pictures into my scrapbook in the Family gallery here. You can see how he got annoyed with us and hid his face in the second picture.
The sonographer had me rolling on my side and back onto my back several times trying to get the little guy to flip back over, but he was onto us. I guess if I could feel the ultrasound waves, he could too. It cracked me up, because I don't like to be stared at either.
We paid an extra $25 beyond what the insurance covered to get a dvd of the entire exam with audio of what we were saying, a copy on VHS, lots of pictures, and a cd with the pictures on it. It's interesting, because if we had stayed with the first OB I was going to, they probably would have done the exam in her office and I don't know if we would have had these extra options. But the birthing center midwifes referred us to this other place because they already knew the insurance covered it. It was this snazzy office in a converted craftsman house with artsy decor. Even the sonographer had very fashionable glasses and totally designy style business cards. Kinda funny.
Oh how neat! I've never seen a 3d sonogram picture!! Getting those first pictures are so exciting. I got to see Kelsey at 11 weeks (they did one so early because they couldn't detect a heartbeat). She was teeny, tiny, doing flips. Looked like she was having the time of her life in there, floating and looking like she was swimming. Once, it looked like she had leaned against one side and propped her feet up. Seeing your pictures and your excitement takes me back. I'm so excited for you! And congratulations on the baby being a boy!!
We had a regular sonogram at about 9 weeks, but he hardly looked like a baby at that point. He was moving around, though, which was really cool to see. I love your story about Kelsey. What a great feeling that must have been!
