One Week Old
Ansel is gaining weight fast! He only lost 2 ounces before he started gaining again (newborns can lose up up to 10% of their birth weight in the early days). He is a voracious eater and he's got a latch of steel. Ouch. I'm making a ton of milk and it's been a little frustrating to leak all over everything all the time. ted was a barracuda, latching on. jeff was much gentler. i'm glad you're not having any trouble keeping him fed!
my mother flew out both times to be with me, but delivery was delayed, and she went back home to indiana almost as soon as i got home from the hospital. it was disappointing. i know how comforting it is to have mom around in the early days.

Hang in there...the early days are hard, but it does get easier. :-) Sounds like things are going pretty smoothly, all in all, though.
