Angels' Moreno unhappy with uncertainty on Matthews Owner says that he expects a resolution by opening day regarding the center fielder's alleged link to human growth hormone shipment. By Bill Shaikin, Times Staff Writer ( 5:45 PM PST, March 4, 2007 )
It was a stupid contract with or without human growth hormones. That teams got some problems, from the top on down. This could prove to be a very long season. We'll see just how far the pitching staff can carry them.
Agreed. Another thing that's annoying about this whole thing is that all the reports mention "Anaheim Angels center fielder Gary Matthews Jr." being linked to the human growth hormones, but he hasn't played one regular season game for the Angels. If he was cheating, it was as a Ranger, not an Angel, yet it's the Angels who are associated with the whole mess. I guess that's all you can expect for $50,000,000 these days.
Gary Matthews is starting to make me miss Steve Finley and Finley was a disaster (yet cheap by comparison).
