Gran sounds like my kind of gal. My only living grandmother (dad's mom) is definitely not like that. She's more the white-gloves-and-hat sort and doesn't talk much. My mom's mom was a lot more fun (there's a famous story about the day I pulled her into the kiddie pool) but she died when I was 11.
