I have a bagless vacuum cleaner, and I really like it! It's so easy to clean and empty. I cannot for the life of me remember exactly what brand it is, though. I want to say Cleansweep II but I'm pretty sure that's a Harry Potter broomstick and not a vacuum cleaner.
I'm glad to hear another vote for the bagless! Thank you for your input. We have a bagless upright now, but it's useless on our hardwood floors, and the little stretchy tube attachment is only about 2 feet long, making it useless for anything but carpets--and it's not that good at vacuuming carpets either.
Hahaha, I thought so but I wasn't totally sure. I'm such a moron :D
I googled it, though, and it's a Cleanview II, that's what I had. I knew it was a clean-something 2.
I use my Cleanview 2 bagless upright in my apartment all the time, which is hardwood floors and there's maybe 1 small carpet thing. It works quite well on both the floors and the carpet. I've got no complaints. It's got a stretchy hose plus 2 solid extender things, I've cleaned the ceilings before, it reaches no problem.
LOL thank you. That's good to know! And nah, not a moron. I expect that 99% of people I talk to on the street would not be able to tell me off the top of their head the name and model of their vacuum cleaner.... Just for fun I might try this while holding a clipboard.
We have a bagged vacuum cleaner that probably predates both you and I. Which does say something about the longevity, but I can't guarantee it was used at the same rate you would.
Let me know what you choose. I want to update ours as well (preferably to bagless) because finding bags can be a real pain as it gets older. Plus ours tends to smell funny when it runs (like heated up cat spew - don't ask, I don't know). I want to pretend that a bagless one won't have that issue.
Actually, my random internet searches did seem to find that real actual people liked Dyson. Huh.
I shall not frown at you. I will even graciously count your comment as also coming from River and Kara and Abby, as you are all housemates and presumably share the same vacuum cleaner....
DYSON! We used our old vacuum cleaner to clean a spot and went over the spot several times. Then we used the Dyson on the same spot and it was like MAGIC... it pulled up A LOT A LOT A LOT more (and you can see it pulling it up).
We've had it for a year and a half and it is still awesome.
Oh, and Chole uses it on the floor and I have used it on walls (so why not the ceiling). And it's canister which I prefer as you never run out of the canister.
Chole's mom has a vacuum that can also paint your walls. I am not kidding.
You know, my random internet searches seemed to imply that normal people really do like the Dyson vacuum cleaners in that they have any attachment to vacuum cleaners at all.
We also have a bagless upright, I think it's a Dyson. Like many others - we got ours as a hand-me-down from Derek's older brother.
We haven't actually tried it on the hardwood floors, and have about 4 feet of carpet in the whole house, so we were just making due with a dustpan and broom.
I must say the clear canister on it made it easy to find the loose floor tiles it sucked up while I was trying to vacuum up broken glass.
So that's my (fairly worthless, to be honest) vacuum cleaner review.

But I do like the bagless aspect of it.
