I've got a paper I'm presenting at a conference weekend after next. I have revised this paper twice already. I just got back feedback from my adviser, which he is very kindly providing for me, in which I get told that what I did in revision was okay, but more is needed. More, more, more, and in about 6 fewer pages. But the first paragraph is now

Update your stat blocks. That'll save some space with the newer format.

Good for you for presenting that paper. You've probably already done this but definitely read it aloud before you go. Make sure to look up and don't just read, perform, look at the audience. Record yourself if you can. Reading at a relaxed pace--too fast and it becomes garbled--too slow and it drags. Shorter is usually better too. I try to keep papers under 20 minutes as a hard rule. Closer to 15 if possible.
Ignore all this if you've done it before.
