Why Anakin is so passinate..

Anakin happens to be a very emotional character. So much, that he has even been diagnosed with Borderline Personaltiy Disorder. But I think, what if the real reason he is so emotional, even overly so at times, is because he has so a lot of medichlorians? Now, I know what you're thinking---"Pepostorous! The Jedi were Force Sensitive, but they ( Read more... )

I think this makes a lot of sense, actually.

I also think it's important to note that not only is Anakin highly Force sensitive and have a lot of midchlorians; his midichlorian count is off charts, and he was literally created by the Force. He is the embodiment of the Force -- the Force taking a limited human form. Considering the handling he had from the Jedi Order, it's not surprising that he was rather wild.

I'm not opposed to the idea, but at the same time, I've always attributed that aspect of Anakin's personality to his just being wired that way, and he would be that way even if he weren't Force sensitive.

However, I do think the Jedi trying to squelch that aspect of his personality, probably magnified it.

Well, it's not so much that he wouldn't be that way if he weren't Force Sensitive---he would. I think that Force Sensitive or not, he is a feeler; the Force just made him a super-feeler if that makes sense.

I remember a discussion about this years ago on TFN and one person attributed Anakin's nature to being the SW equivalent of a demigod. Demigods don't fare well in a lot of mythologies.

I agree with manic, yeah, that's just *him,* Leia's like that too, lets things get to her. Except her circumstances, the circumstances under which she was raised made the difference from her becoming a compulsive feeler like her father... If that makes sense.

I also agree w/ lazy about the whole demigod thing, quite literally. Think Hercules. Heck, even Jesus...

Like firehearts said, it's not so much that he wouldn't be emotional and passionate if he wasn't Force sensitive. He would. However, the fact that he's basically...well, the child of the Force, or a demigod of sorts if you will...does might be a factor that inevitably makes him a super-feeler. :)

Btw, I love the comparison with Jesus. :)
