Happy Weekend, flist!

I am so ready for this weekend. Thankfully, it's coming very soon. :D

Tonight, I'm going to listen to Neil Gaiman talk about his new book and then possibly spend many, many hours in line waiting for him to sign mine. :D

AH! I'm a big fan of Neil Gaiman too! What was he like in person?

It was pride last weekend here and it was packed! Unfortunately we didn't get to attend it secondary to poor planning on our part and lack of parking :(.

Oh, cool! I didn't realize you were a fan too! :D He was really nice! He did a reading from his new book, then they had taken a bunch of written questions from the audience, and he answered a bunch of those, and then read from another new children's book that's coming out this fall. :) He was really down-to-earth, very insightful, and unexpectedly funny. We had a great time~ :D

That's too bad about the parking! Though I'm sure we would've had a similar experience yesterday if we'd tried to drive - it was INSANE here! I heard they were expecting 1.5 million people, and I believe it, because it was much, much more crowded than I remember it being last year~ We ended up not staying all that long because it was just so hard to move around. >_> But it it was still fun to see all the excitement. ;)

I did - very briefly! They were moving the book-signing line along pretty quickly, but I got to say hi, introduce myself, and thank him for coming. Which was really nice~ <3

So I take it this means you're coming with sariagray and I when we go? :D :D :D Because I am dead serious about coming out for that. I don't know when yet, but... IT WILL HAPPEN. :D

Also. sdklajlksjdlksdj are you a Hedwig fan? Because if you are... I hope you don't mind if I flail at you for ever and ever?! <33333

I mean, I have to see what my life looks like when this actually happens, but yeees.

(So, Hedwig was a little...artsy for my tastes? I'm really a very straightforward person most of the time and Hedwig was a bit too much for me sometimes. But I enjoyed it and I enjoyed the music and I would probably enjoy it more a) with friends and b) LIVE.)

(Yeah, I get what you're saying. The lyrics for some of those songs are a bit obscure. And Hedwig is totally crazy/over-the-top and not necessarily for everyone! I personally find her incredibly endearing/inspirational, but... I know this is not always the case for everyone. ^_~ But I do think NPH is going to be awesome, and I'm really curious to see what they're going to do with the staging and the rest of the casting and OMG it's BROADWAY, you know? So you should come~ :D :D :D)
