Sad Fact of the Day:

Mar 27, 2007 19:20

"An impressive 89% of Americans believe that arts education is important enough to be taught in schools, but the sad truth is, kids spend more time at their lockers than in arts classes."

[where "arts" includes visual arts (drawing, painting, scupture, etc.), drama/theatre, dance, and music (both choir and orchestra/band)]

I think I spent more time in drama/theatre than I did in class, at home, or at my locker combined.

Well, yeah, I spent lots of time in visual art class/drama/theatre, too. We're obviously exceptions. But the *average* American kid is not as lucky.
