That was wonderful. I read all of it too. :P I'm a combination alto and tenor geek. But I think I like my tenor a bit more right now (partially because I'm in love with the Otto Link mouthpiece I got for it and the loud bright tone it produces). I'm actually a convert to saxophone, I used to play trumpet. *gasp* You named it? I like that idea. I have to come up with names for my horns now.. :o I'm friending you, you seem quite interesting. Friend me back?
I've been forced onto Tenor as well. Though I never got to a point where I liked it, an intense dislike of school horns, plus show choir pit, plus being put on it despite having volunteered for Alto/Bari kinda makes it tough. Twas an enjoyable essay though, well written.
Nice essay! I may play flute, but unfortunately I don't feel that way about it. My piano on the other hand... yeah. My friends have two theories about why I don't have a boyfriend, one of them is I'm too in love w/ my piano. But seriously, my piano is a part of me and I don't think I could live w/o him. In fact I almost had to quit due to scheduling conflicts and that was one of the most stressful times of my life. Luckily we fixed it.
Anyway, that was longer then I intended it to be... nice essay.
Amazing. Inspiring, even. You have such dedication and passion towards your instrument and your music.
I, too, feel that music is an integral part of my life. I feel empty when I don't have it. It's become a part of who I am. The alto girl. The only alto girl.
Hahahah represent.
That's all I have to say. Rock on, keep on doing what you love.
Music becomes a part of you, and fuses the instrument to you after a time. It's comfort, firmness, and pure relaxation all at once. Logically, that last sentence doesn't really make much sense, but I couldn't bring myself to delete it.
It's always interesting to hear other people talk about the saxophone, or anything they love with as great a passion as this. You can hear it in their voice, even in their typing. Keep with it. You feel something missing when if you stop for too long.

I too am a sax geek, though of the alto variety.
