Popular dance-vocal group Choshinsei is currently appearing on NHK education's language study program. [Hangul course on TV]
They are in-charge of the once-a-week corner entitled [Totteoki Hangul = the best(?) Korean] where they introduce simple and useful phrases.
Choshinsei was interviewed after the program recording...
- I'm already used to Hangul course's recording
Yoonhak: The members were in high-spirits and had heaps of fun. We enjoyed performing (or hosting for this matter), seeing the audience watching us intently, you can see that we've worked hard.
- What is there to be considered in teaching Korean?
Kwangsoo: I feel a sense of responsibility in teaching Korean. Before arriving in Japan, everyone in the office gathered to study Korean like elementary students. We ourselves are studying hard, so everyone please have fun.
- Do you have any experience that lead to your progress in studying Japanese?
Sungmo: For me, I think I learned most when I went to Japan. So to learn Korean, I think it's important that you go to Korea.
Kwangsoo: After watching "Hangul course", I would try to study the pronunciation of the words showed on the program.
Yoonhak: I think it's better when people are having fun while learning, watching "Hangul course", might as well watch a lot of Korean dramas, it's also important to listen (to Kpop?). So in that case, it will come naturally. In my case, it took 3 years.
- In Yoonhak's point-of-view, the member who's most proficient in Japanese.
Yoonhak: It's Kwangsoo.
Kwangsoo: Absolutely. LOL
Yoonhak: When I first came to Japan, I too had difficulty in Japanese. I'm not very good, so I worry about miscommunication. Recently, the man appeared to be reliable when I cannot go, I will properly say Kwang-kun. (This, I cannot understand clearly.) When he was still in Korea he had been studying by watching Japanese drama, practicing pronunciation, and listening to a lot of J-POP.
- Yoonhak has been casted into NHK's drama "Love Kimchi", is there any trouble in shooting?
Yoonhak: It was early in the morning. Every day there was this tense feeling. Except for me, the cast and staff were all Japanese, and the script was in Japanese too. I was really nervous but, the shooting was fun.
- Would you like to be casted in the musical "Looking for Kim Jong-wook" that has been premiered in Korea?
Yoonhak: (I) originally dreamed to be an actor in a musical, so it's nice to have that dream be fulfilled. I have known our value (as a group), I'm not ashamed when perfoming as Choshinsei, I am satisfied with myself. And also, Japanese people come up to me and telling me that some of the Japanese dialogue is interesting and that they enjoyed it alot.
