I listened to your podcast, Anaross. That was so cool. Found myself nodding when you were talking about letting (trusting) the characters to take you where they should go. That's been my style more or less. I might write myself a loose outline of the parts of the plot I should hit, but that's about it.
You mentioned you like long stories in their own verse. Well, I'm like a couple chapters away from finishing a Stuffy story which is currently 221 chapters (not including the 38 chapter prequel) and about 800,000 words.
Of course, being 'nearly finished' doesn't mean that I'm in the right/write headspace to do so.
In the process of cleaning out my mom's house ( she passed away in December, she would have been 97 in March) and that's where my head is at right now.
But, when I am finished, I'd be honored if you would read my (longer than War and Peace) tome(s).
Wow! that really is longanarossFebruary 20 2019, 02:14:16 UTC
I've always wanted to do that, just keep writing chapters and scenes and never stop and have to start something new. A continuing story like that would really teach you to find more ways to develop and change the character. Are you going to "conclude" it or wrap it up with some kind of resolution? You know what I mean, bringing all the threads into a knot? or is the ending more ambiguous?
It sounds like a wonderful experience... i'm kind of envious about writing so much! Let us know when you post it. I'd love to read it chapter by chapter. what an achievement. It must feel really fulfilling to complete it.
I think I've been to Julian. There are apple orchards, is that right? It sounds like you don't just research, but you get right into writing too. It's so easy to descend into research, and hard to put it into the writing.
I`v listened to the podcast and I just want to say thank you for doing this. It was awesome to her your voice and hear you talk about your writing. I really love your fanfiction, not only My Life Closed Twice but also Colors, Domino Effect, Nevertime, Unspoken, Stay ... some of them are very bittersweet but all of them are beautiful. I can`t say how much happiness it gives me to read them. And also you made me re-discover Robert Frost. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
