Rec Review: When you think on surgery it probably goes to darker fanfic with lot’s of blood, this one is a good counterpoint: pure fluff and goofy. It’s a bit of what I enjoyed with the movie, the ability to see Erik and Charles as friends in a non threatening environment. It’s not completly h/c, but I think it fits the prompt being a continuous mention of surgery with the ER Au routine.

Rec Review: I love when Burt is comforting, so choosing a fic where he does the dad figure to Finn is really perfect. I also like the fact instead of a gory bloody surgery fic, we have a dental surgery and a focus more on the character’s fear than the surgery itself.

Rec Review: It’s funny, it’s cracky and comforting all at once. I love science bros and therefore anything with Tony and Bruce meddling with what they shouldn’t. Clint is an added bonus, because he would jump on a experimental surgery without much problem and I think S.H.I.E.L.D. would miss something like a hearing problem when Clint’s abilities rest in his eyes.

Rec Review: This falls more to the hurt aspect of h/c than the comfort one. Bruce has pain in his jaw and Alfred knowing him so well takes care of everything. I love Alfred and Bruce’s relationship and to see a fic to handle them so well is great in so little words. You are probably seeing a padron here, lot’s of non bloody surgeries and other dental one. I feel like dentists are many times neglected. Also there is drugged!calling and tiny bit of slash.

Rec Review: Comforting Kurt helping Blaine after Sebastian throws the rock and salt slush. Blaine is super vulnerable and it’s awesome to see a “missing scene” when we have almost nothing about Blaine passing for the eye surgery and the recovery (I refuse to acknowledge that weird scene with Finn, Rachel and Kurt in his bedroom). This goes from before, to during and then after the surgery and all points of comfort and also a hilarious drugged Blaine.

Rec Review: This is pure angst with heart wrenching feelings and surgery prepping while in mission with a detailed trauma done on the job. It’s mission fic gone wrong and Bones having to work his off to keep Jim alive. Not for the light hearted or for who doesn’t want a more scientific grip. Also Jim/Bones, and it’s indeed a marvelous construction of their relationship without much romance.

Testicular Torsion and it’s the most bizarre surgery so far. The fic has a good progression from dean getting hurt until the surgery and Sam taking care of him. Motel!fics for Supernatural are almost like a trope, but here the characterization of the brother really makes it unique. It also has a good amount of dark humor that comes with surgery in delicate places.

I want to see something where, for whatever reason, Steve's accelerated healing turns out to be a bad thing. Something where the faster healing is making things worse. I would prefer something other than the standard, super-healing allows for more torture without death.
“He's lucky - to have the serum, to have you all.” Tony wasn't sure about that first part.
When one faced death and destruction every day on the job, there were many advantages to having a healing factor...and a great many disadvantages as well.
Rec Review: Great worldbuilding with how Steve serum can be a disadvantage. It’s post-mission fic with Steve body fighting against him in surgery. There is angst and problems, Captain America suffering and Tony trying to help when he is having a breakdown from watching Steve. The author’s notes have a lot of info too.

Rec Review: This one is a short and sweet fic. I’m a sucker for any fics involving the marauders in the first war and Sirem is an added bonus. This was great after reading more angsty pieces and Remus takes care of Sirius, something that it is probably the root of their relationship.

Rec Review: I will start with Hades being in it, if you blink, you miss, but being a greek geek I shall not. Jim is his usual reckless bastard and Bones the flailing around guy, but it’s a Secret Agent Au and I love short, well structure alts. Of course Jim gets hurt on mission (Star Trek is like the go to fandom for job-related trauma). Tiberius Kirk (Jim’s grandad) makes an appearance and it’s so hard to find good Grandpa Kirk fics.

Rec Review: I will start saying the author’s notes have a lot of worldbuilding info, that I really appreciate. I have a thing for Iruka/Kakashi and fics that show them outside the job. This one brings all the dangers and how tired a ninja can get with their jobs and how much it can affect their personality and the daily life.

Rec Review: Over 50k, it’s a sensitive story, full of fluffy and worrying about a surgery that could get Louis to hear again. It is my first time reading an One Direction fic, but not the first bandom!fic, so while I do read RPF a lot, this one was a bit hard for me to separate the people, who I don’t know much (I heard a few songs on the radio and when Glee used for performances) from a story that is great and doesn’t really need you to know so much about the singers. It passes mostly at the hospital, but isn’t boring and when someone can write 50k in very closed quarter I just give my love.

Rec Review: Kinky fic. It’s one of my favorite Glee fics and one I read on my Puckurt fase. Has sweetness, kinky and angst in equal proportions. I really like how Puck can be gentle and help Kurt, without losing his rogue persona. It’s a bit unbelievable, but in itself very internally cohesive. I also like how the starvation it’s voluntary on Kurt’s part and he only goes forward with the deal when he is starting to put his life in danger.

Author’s Summary:For a prompt that wanted Bilbo's starvation, eating 1-2 meals instead of Hobbits' 7, sparking some bad memories in the older dwarves that know what it's like to starve and how hard it is to reverse the effects, especially with their limited supplies.
Rec Review: I always got squeamish it the hobbits in Lord of the Rings and the constant need to eat. This fic brings a darker side to the good old joke and the trope of laughing of any hobbit need for 7 meal a day, it’s also a good fic to show how the dwarfs work and it’s almost psychological in its descriptions, bringing a very well balanced angst in such a short fic.

Author’s Summary:He wandered to the living room to run into a massive box of macaroni and cheese. Curiously, he walked over to the kitchen to see another box marked 'ramen' next to the kitchen door. Finally, he stepped into the kitchen and that was when he saw it; boxes and boxes of food. There were huge boxes of frosted flakes, giant tubs of mayonnaise, and even restaurant size cans of corn all over the place. Suddenly, he felt like he was in an episode of Horders, superhero edition.
Rec Review: Another short one, but so good. Steve background could turn this into a complete angst fic, but being his shiny self it becomes a great sweet fic. It’s funny, because it’s Steve worried with things he doesn’t have to, but it’s gut punching when you realise Steve did starve when he was a child and his concerns are genuine, even if Tony thinks his condition as billionaire sets him free of dangers (which is ridiculous considering what happened with him so far in MCU and in the multiverse).
