"Either exsist as you are"- It can mean one of two things: Be the person you came in this world as. Your personal truth OR how you are feeling inside
"or be as you look"- Either let the materialistic/outside face be what the world knows you as OR if you are feeling bad and you dressed yourself up nicely, act as that person to make up for feeling low.

Your reply makes me think...Maybe it's kind of a warning - that you should be who you are inside or else you may reduce yourself to just being what you appear on the surface and lose your inner core. Hmm. It's a pretty philosophical box of candy.
