No More Vampires

Dang, I am so tired of vampires!  I just walked past an end display of young adult vampire novels.  Believe me, Twilight is apparently the tip of the iceberg (or whatever is a good metaphor, vampire style...tip of the gravestone?)  Here is my entry:

Sun light  rakes dry earth
raise your face to the day sky
     get it over with.

Good job!

I just want to scream when the twentieth person of the day calls and asks for "Eclipse" - there ARE other books in the library people! And some are even interesting, even though they're not about witches, vampires or obnoxious little preteen girls. Argh! What happened to people reading Literature?!

We could probably all collaborate and come up with a great series that will make fortunes for all of us!

As much as I want people to shut up about the Twilight series as being the "Best Thing Since Sliced Bread", I have seen more kids reading, so I'll give it that. What I am tired of are the Werewolves that pop up at some point in most Vampire stories now. Why?

I do like your idea for the YA book. I would read it. I also noticed the geology references as well.

I've always been a "sucker" for Vampire stories, but that doesn't mean I read everything about Vampires. There is more crap stories out there about them than I care to count.

Have you ever read L.J. Smith's "The Secret Circle" YA books? Part of the plotline was for Witches to find their "Stone". If you haven't read this series, I would look into it. They came out about 15 years ago, but were pretty good.

I have enjoyed a good vampire story in my day as well; I guess I am just burnt out. And i didn't even realize until this evening that there is a new vampires vs. werewolves movie coming out. Somebody could probably get a Master's thesis out of Why Vampires,Why Werewolves, WHy Now?
