After a great semana santa visit from my mom and Tia Charo (Aunt Sharon for those of you who don't know), I've jumped back into classes and "real" life! Mom, Tia and I covered a lot of area in Catalunya. They were troopers and entertained me during Valencia's huge festival "Las Fallas" that lasted from 12 pm to 2 am - that's a lot of standing and walking for Mom and Sharon! . . . especially on their second day in Spain with JET LAG! We also borrowed my roommate's car and drove up to Costa Brava, specifically Figueres where the Dali Museum is, and Port Lligat outside of Cadaques where Dali's house is. We also managed to visit one of my dad's bookseller friends who is completing a project of fixing up a 17th century house (16th? 18th? - I don't quite recall, but it's OLD) down near Tarragona. In that visit, we managed to explore Altafulla, La Nou de Gaia and a tiny bit of another town and Torredembarra - BEAUTIFUL! (I'd live there!) - and great company!

Ana, also known as "Ana nu. 1" (I'm Ana nu. 2) or Ana Majorquina (I'm Ana Americana) is a GREAT roommate who is finishing her arquitectural studies. She and I have spent a lot of time together because our other two roommates have been home in Argentina. I'm kinda sad, because she's actually going to move into her own new apartment in about a month and leave me here with the two Argentinian women who are past 35 and working (or at least TRYING to, it's hard to find jobs in BCN as an extranjero). Needless to say, I am really enjoying my new piso and (so far) the people I live with.

Back to the real world, not vacation, I need to register for classes soon and that means I need to decide on my second major study plans. I will only have one spanish class left to complete when I return to the U of I, but I REALLY can't decide what my second major should be! Currently I am emailing back and forth with my amazing advisor in LAS general to see if he can give me some suggestions and help me get into something I enjoy.
