*hugs* again, I'm so sorry. What a sweet little kitty, I'm sorry she had to go but I'm glad she had you to take care of her. I know you did what was best for her, now and all the time she's been with you.

In other news, Lulubelle was successfully reunited with her people last night, when they finally got home from the movies and called me back in tears. They'd brought her to a birthday picnic in AA a couple of weeks ago, and lost her, and had since given up hope that she'd find her way home. They are very grateful to you for talking me through my WHAT DO I FEED A STARVING CAT? panic dance, and think she may have chosen my door to come meow at because I have the same herbs on my porch as they do theirs at home.

Rats! One of my fellow grad students here has rats. I had no idea how ridiculously adorable they were. Their teeth kill me. And their EARS!! And their little feet.

And yes, yay for happy story. It was the bright spot in a bad week for kitties--one of my best buddies lost her Tatterdemalion yesterday afternoon. Pttttth.

One of my all time favorite students got me a rat for xmas. She (I named her Stitch) is spending the summer with Nolan. Possibly livign with Nolan for ever I kept her in my classroom at my old school, but the new school has more hoops to jump through so I might just let Nolan keep her. He's really enjoying her company actually...rats are cute - it's just their tails that freak people out....
