There are really two reasons I wouldn't.

Well, three:

a) I've stopped the sex-without-relationship thing a long time ago. I've had some near-misses -- some fooling around -- but no sex. And most of the time, I want to keep it that way.

b) If I were to get that close to her, then I'd inexorably get drawn into the drama that is swirling above her head like a vortex that was invisible to me until last night.

c) We're friends, but I don't even know if she's into me, insomuch as sex goes.

Eh. People have always been like this.

I mean, it's not hard to do. When I've dated people in the past I've always flirted with other people ... Never cheated on someone, though.

Everyone I've dated except for one has seemed kind of ... blase, to me. Just kind of a place-holder until I find something better.

With this chick, though -- she was supposed to marry her ex-boyfriend, and she slept with something like 3 people while they were dating. And then, last night, she's texting her ex to try to get him to take her back, while she's sitting on some other dude's lap. The two of them then proceed to leave to (presumably) go have sex.Eh. Eh. I had a bought like that.

Not fun. Very depressing. Desperate cries for affection and all that jazz.

I have some exceptions to the "no sex unless in a relationship" rule, but not many.

Even outside of the fact that I have no desire to just fool around, or get easy sex -- even if I did that, it would mean that I'd get drawn into a whole lot of drama that I have no need for.

You ever seen the movie Night Watch (or read the book)? She's got a vortex of drama swirling above her head that dwarfs the one that Svetlana has.
