When I lived in San Jose, I considered Zippy to be a San Francisco kind of guy--his zen-like non-sequitors seemed appropriate and in tune with the way Northern Californians tend to think.
Now that I'm back in Pittsburgh, and see the kinds of American kitsch Zippy is so fond of, he makes sense here, too. Often when I go downtown, I see at least one person on the street who I think would be fascinating to Zippy, and wouldn't find him all that strange in return.
