Just come back from seeing it with tejp. It would be easy to throw out a list of niggles, but first off: overall I enjoyed it.

Bad Stuff:
Important chunks of dialog removed, most notably (IMHO) "I write poetry to throw my harsh, callous exterior into sharp relief" and the bit about the Babel fish being proof of the non-existence of God.

Best bit: The tiny robot with the police siren on the Vogsphere. I've no idea why but it had me in stitches.

Oddly, none of this means anything to me as I stubbornly managed to avoid hearing the radio plays, reading the books, or watching any more than the first tv episode.

I wonder if I would enjoy the film regardless. Or maybe because of.

I dont like the idea of Alan Rickman hamming. He should always be deadpan. Always.

Personally, I think it loses enough explanatory notes that it might be rather hard to follow if you don't know the background.

The trailer gave me the fear, but then it do have 'The Bills' in it.
