i've been assigned a new project - something on dimension reduction and optimization - and am back to being a pen and paper mathematician. so bad at this, i deserve to be sacked and made to write aunt agony columns, or something useless like that.

The office is creepy after everyone leaves.  I just went to dispense myself a milo and didn't bother turning on the pantry lights, and the dispenser flashed and whirred in the most sinister way.  Like a broken police siren, painting the walls the colour of a crime scene.  Ahhhh.   ( Read more... )
