I think this is perforce going to have to be a rather short entry as I am posting before class, however, I wanted to get it done while I have this shit in my mind

Yeah... the lack of curiousity in things that damn well SHOULD have sparked curiosity is disconserting. But you wanna know what the biggest, baddest HUGEST BADASS case of this is? The fact that Haseo and Kuhn -- two former lost ones, never, ever, ever mention the fact that they have been in comas. What, did they just forget they spent who knows how long a time in the hospital? You'd think they'd mention the trauma, or that it would color their opinions on things just a little. Even if Haseo had his mind wiped out to the point where he didn't remember beieng Sora at all, you'd think he'd at least wonder at the coincidence of his own random traumaless coma and what's going on online. I mean, why even reuse the RL character, if you aren't going to even hint at his background.
Haseo doesn't remember. Skeith mindfucked him so much that he just lost his entire prior career as Sora.
I theorize that he was just 10 years old and probably came out of it very disoriented. His parents never told him what happened ... maybe he doesn't even know that he was in a coma. 10 year olds will accept as truth some really unbelievable shit. He just knows that he was seriously ill and never questioned beyond that.
Kuhn DOES mention it, actually. It's in one of his vol 1 e-greeting threads. He talks about his girlfriend (the one who died in //Liminality) and how he was in the hospital and almost died himself.
I still don't see much point in Haseo being Sora since there is no reference at all to that whole backstory. It's not even as though all the avatars are held by former lost ones. But even so, I just have a hard time swallowing that a 10 year old wouldn't realize that several months of his life were missing. I mean if he was smart enough to embroil himself in the whole //Signs story in the first place, he'd be smart enough to check a calandar and ask a few questions about what the heck happened to him. So not only did Skeith mindfuck his memory, apparently he also mindfucked Haseo's curiousity about his own life.
Kuhn mentions it offhandedly once, but you'd think he'd discuss it a bit more at length (and in the main story line) -- after all it's hard to get more apropos to their situation. We know more about Atoli's problems in school than we do about Kuhn's reasons for coming back to a game that nearly killed him.
Oh, he possibly knew--kids are known for being horribly observant when you don't want them to be. But considering that he collapsed while playing The World, I'm sure his parents would've gotten rid of that game quickly. Uninstalled. New computer. No computer at all. Something to that extent
