While dicking around and procrastinating on my homework, I ended up on Wikipedia and realized that I have, somewhere around this house, a game console from every single game console generation with the exception of this newest one. And I'm sure I'll get a PS3 eventually, despite how hard they suck ass, because the next set of .hack games will ( Read more... )

The PC version is vastly inferior to the PS version. The music is all done in MIDI, and correspondingly sounds HORRID. It was a massive disappointment, and I have no idea why they did it that way. Can you imagine One Winged Angel in MIDI? Yeah. :/

I have quite a few consoles as well. I started off with an Intellivision (and constantly gloated about it to my friend Doug, who had a 2600. I always thought the Intellivision looked way better.) Other consoles I have are: NES, SNES, Playstation, Nintendo 64, PS2, XBox, XBox 360, Wii. Wow, that's a lot of freaking consoles. (I also have a bunch of handhelds, but that's besides the point.) If I ever actually get a PS3, it'll be the first time I have all the major consoles from a single generation. I doubt I'll get a PS3, though.

(For the record, if it had been up to me, I would have gotten a Saturn as well... but I didn't have the money for one at the time.)

Nowadays I only buy consoles when there's a specific game for said console that I really want to play. This has the advantage that said games usually come out when the console itself has been out for a good long time, and it's therefore somewhat cheaper than it was when it was first released. This betrays me as the casual gamer that I am. :D
