I wouldn't have even bothered to do this one except that I had it on hand. This is the book that inspired Bloodlust. So...in the book, Leila actually was the Marcus Brothers' sister, not just some girl they picked up somewhere and taught to hunt? Crazy. Almost as crazy as the idea of Grove raping anything. Also, Caroline? Who?

I know I don't comment much, but I've been really enjoying these. XD I was actually inspired to take a look at the manga version of the first book the other day at B&N...it was pretty good. Ever read it?

Yeah, the whole interaction with the Marcus clan in the book was full of wtfery. Grove is even more pathetic in the book than he is in the movie, and yet he's supposed to have helped to gangrape Leila. LOL.

Caroline in the movie is the greenhaired wildchild chick who fuses with her environment. In the novel she is a part-demon dhampir who controls whatever she sucks from. She first takes control of a giant severed mechanical arm by (get this) sucking gasoline from its fuel line. Then she drinks sap from an assortment of trees and can order them to move around.

I've got the first two volumes of the manga. The third volume is due out later this year IIRC. The art is somewhat confusing when there is a lot of action, so I think it helped that I'd read the appropriate novels first. I like the art, tho.

Ten thousand years into the future, they still use ibuprofin.

Because it's just that good.

And the know-how to manufacture it survived a devastating worldwide nuclear war and 5000 years of vampire rule, plus another 5000 years of anarchy. :D
