I brought Alamet home tonight. She improved somewhat between Monday and Tuesday, but when I went to visit her today she had deteriorated again. She was never going to feel good again. Today was probably the best day that she was ever going to have again, and she was pretty miserable today. She was weak and twitching, and thirsty but unable to

I am so sorry to read about the loss of your lovely girl. It's obvious how much she means to you, and a loss like that is always such a hard, hard thing. You're in my thoughts and prayers. Take care of yourself.

I am so sorry for you and Alamet. She looks like such an lazy sweetie. I had to put down the family dog earlier this year, so yes, you're right, there's nothing one can do or say to make it hurt less. But you loved her, so you've done right by her. That's what counts in the end, right?

Apparently it's a bad week for pets - Oni passed on Monday.

I know Alamet was with you a lot longer than Oni was with me, and I can't imagine that kind of loss.

You took care of her and when it was obvious she was suffering, you let her go. That you did what was best for her is the most anyone can ever ask.
