I read GI Joe (A Real American Hero!) vs the Transformers yesterday, the miniseries by Devil's Due. Unexpectedly entertaining and really hilarious. I was somewhat disconcerted by Starscream's black repaint; it made him look like Skywarp. Also: Thundercracker gets no love. NONE ( Read more... )

I'm trying to think of a legitimate reason to build a robot that runs on something that is capable of destroying worlds if, like mixing bleach and ammonia, you add the wrong stuff to it.

Quintession Engineer 1: "Gears and girders, but this project sucks. Has anyone actually thought of the energy expenditures necessary to get robots this big moving? Like, at all? Never mind all the other stuff we want them to do... We'd need to devote so much volume and mass to batteries that they'd be twice as big ( ... )

Pretty much. That, or they're just really sick of even bothering and just decide "This'll work, and who cares about the fallout? We're not the ones who have to actually clean it up."

In theory, the Quintessions were originally building Transformers as domestic and military commercial hardware, which they then sold to clients.

I wonder if they came with warning labels.
