It's been brought to my attention that as I haven't updated my website, Ancasta's Corner, since November of 2008, I might want to make it easier for people to find my work.

Hi. It's not a question of access, hon. The issue is I took the story down April 1st because I've reworked it and am currently selling it as original fiction (it's available on Amazon, under the same name). I can't share the old version with you, not when I'm asking people to pay for the reworked version (plus, it's against Amazon's policy). But if you go to Storyfinders and put in a request, I'll bet someone will have a copy they'll share. I'd put up a PDF version a month or two before I took the story down.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience.

I've heard great things about "Redemption" but I'm getting 'access denied' when I click the link. Do I need to be friended to read it? *puppy eyes*

Your puppy dog eyes are very becoming. :-)

It's not friending that's the issue, the problem is I've reworked the story and am now selling it as original fic on Amazon. I've taken down the old version. I'm afraid it's no longer available.

If you go on Storyfinders and ask, I'll bet people will have a file laying around. I'd uploaded a cleaned up PDF file a month or two before I pulled the story.

Hi.

I'm afraid it's not a question of the story being friend-locked. I've taken Redemption, reworked it, and am currently selling it as original fic on Amazon (under the same title). So I had to pull down the original. Unfortunately, it's offline for good.

My advice would be to go to Storyfinders and put in a request there. I've done that before for stories under similar circumstances and always had good luck. The fic was posted for nearly two years with PDF, mobi, and epub versions available for much of it. Someone has got to have a file available.

Hello! Congrats on your publication of Redemption. I am curious though. Someone told me of a different story, Out of the Ashes, that you wrote, but the link is broken. Is this the same issue, or is it something different? :)

Hi. Thanks for the kind words on Redemption.

As it turns out, Out of the Ashes followed the same path. I released it as original fiction on August 1st. It's available on Amazon (both to rent through Amazon Prime and to buy).

If you'd like the J2 version, I'm sure someone on SPN Storyfinders would have it. It was on the web for over 2-1/2 years before I reworked it. I'm really sorry about the inconvenience.

Oh! Congrats! I read redemption when you first posted it, and love love loved it. I'll probably look in finders for Out of the Ashes, but do you mind asking how much it was reworked? I like checking out writers published work, but sometimes they change alot of major concepts/characterizations and I just get thrown for a loop. (I'm a weird reader...) So I like a little "warning" beforehand.

Anyhow, thanks for the information. It's no inconvenience at all. :)

Also, congrats again on the publication. :)

It hasn't been changed a whole heck of a lot. I worked with a professional editor on this one, and she encouraged me to flesh out the point where Jared/Noah's father dies (this isn't much of a spoiler as I mention it in the book's blurb). I also did some wordsmithing and streamlining. Overall, the story is probably around 2,500-3,000 words longer than when I posted it originally. But I haven't substantially reworked the story.

I hope you like whatever version you end up reading. :-)

One other thing you might try is going on SPN Storyfinders and asking if anyone has a copy of the story. It had been on the web for over 2-1/2 years before I pulled it down. Someone out there should have it.
