Very well done. There aren't many fics out there that focus on Benji's alcoholism, that really delve into the thoughts he has about it, but I'm glad you did it, because you did a great job of it. The constant, uphill battle he fights and the despair he feels came across really clearly, as did that Joel was his little beam of light to keep him up. The little family celebration added that cuteness to it that made me smile. Great job. :)

And really, the thought of Joel and Benji sitting in front of a tiny cake is really just too cute. :)
