G. I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (B+) - G. I. Joe is a dumb movie. It's brain dead, it's plot is as thin as a paper, its lazily written, has countless flashbacks, and is nothing more then a huge spectacle. A massive, ridiculous film which is essentially a masturbatory gung ho pro American military film. It's essentially EXACTLY what the cartoon and ( Read more... )

"Diehard fan boys and G.I. Joe junkies alike are sure to be equally disappointed with the way Sommers tweaked certain elements of the original storyline, in contrast to the classic comic books. On the other hand, the film contains quite a bit of action and more than enough material to surely set the stage for a series of G.I. Joe sequels."

One of many bad reviews. Of which rotten tomatoes has more than 60%.

I'm sorry, but i saved my cash for hurt locker which was excellent.
i don't need to spend 20 bucks to have my mind unwinded. i can doing that playing bejeweled or peggle for free on the internet. or i'll see bad boys or die hard again.

Good for you, your loss.

By the way you want me to run down negative reviews of all the movies you like too? What exactly does that accomplish? That i'm a fucking idiot with shit for taste? Maybe i'll post the reviews for The Ugly Truth, which you liked, of which there are also quite more then 60% negative. So I guess we're both fucking idiots then who have shit for taste. Way to insult us both in one fell sweoop!

I would have never given anything above a C to ugly truth. "A" is The Departed, Godfather 2, Goodfellas, Star Trek, etc. Its like giving a simpleton a prize for sleeping. congratz, you do everything everybody else does better.

ugly truth served a purposed for me, and i imagine gi joe served a purpose for you. but lets be real here.

well it owuld be pointless to go and change it to a B+, since its a hairline difference, but i see what your saying. Still a fun fucking movie, and the guy playing Cobra Commander was almost worth price of admission alone. As for as the director, this is his best movie since the first Mummy movie.

I'll see it if I get the chance, if not, G.I. Joe: Rise of the Netflix. Ol' Roy is getting too broke, and too old to be going out to the movies with those meddling kids and their dog.

Netflix is fine, this isn't a movie that DEMANDS theatrical visit.
