[Well. Kiriko won't get a response from Rapunzel but he'll get a knock on the door and an apple pie still warm in front of it. He'll be lucky to catch the blonde hair darting around the corner down the stairs. Happy birthday?]

[dskfhsklfh awww. This undue act of kindness really hits home. He tries calling out to whoever it might be, but they're just gone, it seems. He looks at the gift uncertainly, wondering if it would be okay to accept if he didn't get a chance to say thank you.
But he takes it inside and sets it down, letting the smell of hot apple pie waft through the room for awhile. For some reason, he feels... a little sad... maybe a little homesick. He sets his head down and thinks for a little until the pie cools completely. Once it does, he cuts a piece for himself, and setting it aside, begins to knock on a few apartment doors, offering the rest to share.]
[Rapunzel just thought that he should at least have a present if he didn't want folks making comment on the letter itself. It had taken her a while to find Kiriko's doorplate, but in that time the sticky-event had worn off so she could leave it. And he'll have to go all the way down to the second floor to find Rapunzel in 206. She opens the door with oven mitts stuck on her hands and the tell tale smells of apple pie in her room.]

..!
[HE SMELLS THAT PIE. With a bit of a gasp, Kiriko gives a small, decidedly Japanese-like bow. Which might look a little weird coming from a six-foot-tall American soldier.]
You! Thanks!
[He had blurted out what he thought so immediately, it might have come off as a little blunt. He corrects himself.]
Er, I mean, thank you so much. You're the one who made this, right? I really appreciate it.
[Rapunzel blushes and takes a step back, watching him execute his bow.]
I-I was, I just didn't think you wanted to draw attention to yourself with the letter so I brought it by. Birthdays shouldn't be passed by like they're another day.
[She smiles though.] I'm glad that you like it though. Happy birthday.

[He looks really touched. He remembers when his soldier friends threw him a surprise party... it was so kind and out of nowhere and he could do nothing to express his profound gratitude. Except work harder as their Doctor. Which he will, now, too, for these people.]
That was really thoughtful. I-I didn't think it really counted, since it hasn't been a year, but... Thanks.
Um... Did you get a chance to try some? [He raises the pie a bit in an offering gesture. He'd normally go about it in a more polite way but he finds the pie tin is... kind of stuck to his hands all of a sudden...]
I guess I was lucky then. I arrived here on my birthday at home. [Rapunzel will be able to take care of herself, no worries there.] Though it wasn't my birthday here, very close though.
[He'll get a smile and nod.] I've been making pies very few days just for something nicer to eat.

Yeah, that is lucky! I feel like I just celebrated my last one... It throws me off. Anyway, I'm glad you had a chance to try some- [And only now he suddenly realizes,] Ah, forgive me, I don't think I caught your name...
[His head doesn't go to fairy tales, does it? Though her hair is all tucked away in a braid right now.]
I don't think so, I was busy with other things I'm afraid. [She brushes her hair from her face with the oven mitt. Pascal is one to always turn a :| at new people. She does this all the time, man.]
Re: offline;and_above_allNovember 12 2011, 05:17:38 UTC
[Nope! His mother told him Japanese folktales like The Fox-Wife and the Boy from a Peach, while his Father was more interested in educating him in classics like Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and Bram Stoker's Dracula... He's probably never even heard of Rapunzel's fairy tale.]
That's alright, I know it was a bad week for everyone... [That whole cadaver thing.] I'm a new Doctor, so if you ever need anything, don't hesitate to call.
Yes. Again, thanks for everything... I owe you big.

[He blushes a bit. People heard about him doing that?]
Oh... Uh..! Yes, that was me. [Though it completely shocked him... he'd never dealt with another immortal before-- He stiffens and quickly changes the topic.]
Hey... you made my day. As you can probably see, I haven't had a lot of those lately. It was definitely worth something. Just say the word.

Rapunzel. It's nice to meet you. [She smiles widely and gestures at a green chameleon.] And this is Pascal, he came from home with me.

Nice to meet you too, Rapunzel! I don't know if you saw from the network- the one last month, I mean - but my name is Kiriko.
[He looks at the little green chameleon and smiles. He's not much of an animal person but he's glad for her she has a pet in a place like this.]
Hello Pascal!

Yes, I think I ran from mine that week. [She smiles and nods.] Are you the one that helped that other new girl? [The vampire.]
You don't owe me anything, Kiriko. I have plenty of preserves.

[She smiles again.] It's your birthday, it's supposed to be a good day. If we're still here next year then we can throw you a proper party.
