If I hadn't fallen through the Rift, I would have really loved to have asked Detective Angell out to dinner.

And she probably would have eaten me alive.

Any of you wiseasses make a comment about her name, you're asking for a punch in the face. Got it?

Oh, I doubt she would have eaten you alive, Detective, unless she's a cannibal. [Sorry, Flack, she takes things way too literally sometimes. Though, she does know that in this instance, it's obviously a joke; she just can't help remarking on it with her attempt at reassurance.]

[if you were face to face, Maura, there'd be a small smile at that]

Cannibal? No. But ... she was definitely a force to be reckoned with.

[She would be grateful for that]

She has a very vibrant personality, then?

She does. And she knows how to handle herself.

Why didn't you ask her out to dinner before you'd fallen through?

Work always getting in the way?

That, mostly. She had only been a detective for a little over a year. Since I had seniority ... I had a feeling she wouldn't go for it, just based on how it would look.

Aw. Were you just shy about getting around to the asking?
