Hoban "Wash" Washburne - Profile - OOC
Born on a heavily polluted planet and unable to see the stars, Hoban Washburne harbored a dream of becoming a pilot. He had a knack for it, and soon became one of the most sought after pilots around. He fell in with Malcolm Reynolds and the crew of Serenity fairly early on, eventually falling in love with and marrying the captain's first mate, Zoe.
Wash tends toward caution in most situations, perfectly content to stay with the ship while the others run off to risk themselves for the jobs that Mal takes on. In most situations, he will opt for the more cautious route, though he is by no means a coward. He is perfectly willing to take action or take a bullet for one of his shipmates, though really, he'd prefer not to.
He has a sense of humor that not everyone gets; sometimes it's dry or amusing only to him. Still, in heated situations, he's generally good at diffusing tension and at least bringing tempers down a notch.
Not without faults and insecurities, Wash has a slightly jealous streak aimed toward Mal. He isn't exactly crazy of the way his wife seems to defer to Mal and obey his every order with no question. However, after that particular argument, things have settled down in that department.
