It was starting to get dark, and Fred was on the prowl for his twin, and anyone else who might be lingering out beyond the curfew. It reminded him a little of the old DA days. Back then he'd thought getting caught by Umbridge was the worst thing that could possibly happen to him-- to any of them. He knew better now, but even the savagery he'd seen during the war paled in comparison to the pointless cruelty these killings suggested. He was grateful, then, to find George sitting with Karolina out on the beach. "Think it's about that time, kids," he said genially, strolling up with his hands in his pockets.

"We don't always hear everything," she said, feeling her stomach sink. "That's awful." She put her hands through her hair, making no real move to get up from the beach.
