To be honest, he didn't keep track. It really wasn't that important in the grander scheme.
He glanced up when she returned and half-smiled at her. "Hey," he said back, and closed the book before replacing it back on the bookshelf (because leaving it open wouldn't have been any good at all). Her hair was still wet, and while he could have told her that there wasn't a rush, that she could have dried herself off more before going out if she wanted, he didn't. It was what George expected. If the last party they'd been at was any indication, it was what she intended to do. By George's estimation, she probably had the need to cut loose after an experience like they'd had. That's what he was there for. He was her friend (and, sadly, he was now almost certain that was all he was), and he was going to get her to relax, Gods damn it ( ... )

"It's kind of empty, isn't it." She looked over the island, her brows knitting as she tried to just... not think about it. Not really the good way to do things, but it was certainly a way to do things.
A way. Maybe that's how she should look at it.
"So what's in the bag?" She rubbed the back of her neck for a second before finally sitting on the ground and leaning back on her elbows. God, she felt like she could just lay back and sleep forever.
